Kerry League F.C. : ウィキペディア英語版 | Kerry District League
The Kerry District League (KDL) (known as the Denny Kerry District League for sponsorship reasons) is an amateur league for football clubs in County Kerry, Ireland. The league's jurisdiction covers almost the whole of County Kerry, except Tarbert, whose local club, Ferry Rangers, compete in the Desmond League. In the past however, clubs from the Millstreet and Ballydesmond areas have competed in the league. There are six divisions in the main league, bound by a system of promotion and relegation . 61 teams compete in the league, including 48 first teams and 13 B-Teams. Officially, the season runs from September to May, however, it is not uncommon for teams to finish their season in late July and start all over again barely two weeks afterwards. The league is featured in much of County Kerry's media like the ''The Kerryman'' and the ''Kerry's Eye''. The current champions are Castleisland A.F.C. who defeated Listowel Celtic in the 2013/2014 Premier A final. The champions of the Premier A go on to compete in the Munster Football Association League Champions Trophy, while many teams compete in the Munster Junior Cup and the FAI Junior Cup. == History == The league was formed in 1971 with eight teams competing in its first season. Before this, Tralee Dynamos, Killarney Athletic and Listowel Celtic played in the Limerick Desmond League.
